If you’re in the market for a new snow thrower, the Craftsman snow thrower line is an excellent option. These machines are equipped with powerful Briggs and Stratton OHV engines, and they can handle snow loads of up to 23 inches. For added convenience, Craftsman snow throwers feature six forward and two reverse speeds and a one-button electric start. They also have folding handles, which allow you to maneuver the machine with one hand. Three models are available, each offering clearance widths of 30, 33, and 45 inches.

Performing the proper maintenance and cleaning of the snow thrower is a critical step in extending the life of the product. First, you must perform an auger control test. Make sure the auger cable has little slack in it when it is positioned in the up position. It shouldn’t be tight or loose.

Another feature to look for is ease of use. The Craftsman Model#88791 is easy to use and has a handle for controlling the snow auger and drive belt. Its steering feature allows you to turn the machine by making one wheel turn faster than the other. However, this feature can be a little confusing, especially if you want to use it in a straight line. Moreover, the lower steel shoes do not track very well in straight lines.

Prices for battery-operated snow throwers start at around $300 for a 40-volt unit and go up to $900 for a 100-volt model. Higher-end models come with extra features such as headlights, dead man’s release, and padded comfort grips. Battery-operated snow throwers can also be manual or electric. Most electric versions come with comfort grips and dead man’s release.

The Craftsman line has recovered from its rough patch in the early 2000s, but isn’t quite up to the quality of Ariens snow throwers. Ariens makes the best single-stage snow blower available, and their two-stage Deluxe 28 is a monster machine. The Ariens brand is better known, and comes with a much better warranty.

For a more affordable snow thrower, Ariens offers the Ariens SS21, a popular workhorse. It features a powerful 254cc engine and a three-blade impeller. It can eject snow up to 50 feet and clear up to 65 tons of snow per hour. Its 21-inch housing provides plenty of clearance to tackle even the largest snowdrifts.

Craftsman is a brand name that is synonymous with outdoor tools and equipment. Their line of snow throwers includes a variety of models with horsepowers ranging from four to 11.5 horsepower. Some models even offer clearance paths of up to 30 inches. They are designed for domestic and professional use. If you have a medium-sized driveway, Craftsman’s models are an excellent choice.
